Bages, France

Today is my first official day in France. I got to explore the very cute little village of Bages. Tomorrow it is off to Gruissan to start set up for the Defi Wind. Already 800 windsurfers registered!

Sunny Day

Yesterday the sun came out for the first time and I got to go on lots of fun adventures. :) I went with my friend Sara on a bike ride through the village to check out some art galleries and the harbor where the local fishermen come in to sell their fish.  Next we went on a kayak trip in the sound, had a quick skateboard contest, then finished the day with a catamaran ride towing behind a surfboard. :)  Here are some photos.  

Today the wind is back and it is really cold again.  Shoot! Time for the parka and wool socks! 

Very windy

Hatteras has been full of wind for the past few days. The group has been windsurfing on the flat sound side of the island as the ocean has been super sloppy. Today brings sunshine for the first time.
I have been working on duck jibes and body drags while the pros are doing all sorts of really impressive freestyle moves. Smiles all around!

First day in Hatteras

Fun first day. Checked in late last night to our huge rental house. Lots of wind but waiting for gear to come tomorrow. Checked in at Wind-NC shop and went adventuring down the coast today. Ready to get going tomorrow for beach clean up and windsurfing!

Tour

Currently on the plane in Detroit on my way to Hatteras for the first stop on my 15 weeks away from home. Trip started with a 3 hr delay in Maui and a 2 hour Layover in LA. Looking forward to getting to the OBX!

Home

Happy to be back on Maui after traveling all around on the AWT.  2012 has put 6 events in the bag and one to go. The Maui Makani Classic will mark the final championship for the year on October 25th-November 3rd.
I have been in the water surfing and/or windsurfing every day since I returned from the East Coast. It feels so good and refreshing to be in the warm Maui waters again.  I love being on tour but will never loose the joy of being home.

Olukai Race

Finished 2nd in my division yesterday for the Olukai SUP race from Moliko to Kanaha.  Woot Woot!
